"Both abundance and lack of abundance exist simultaneously in our lives as parallel realities. It is our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present- love, health, family, friends, work, joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us happiness- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

Watching for Daddy

It's Time for an Upgrade

So on a whim, we finally decided it was time to purchase a bigger frying pan.  My sister was so proud of me.  I don't usually treat myself to new kitchen things very often.  Our old "big" frying pan looks so small compared to the new one but it sure has made meal time easier.  There are probably a few other things that need to be upgraded like a second waffle maker and more silverware, but for now we are very happy with our new luxury if I could only find space in the cupboard for it.

Princess for a Day

Our local beauty college did a princess day for little girls last month and we of course had to attend.  Our first attempt to get there failed because of a terrible blizzard.  They were so sad we had to turn around and go back home.  When it finally cleared up, we literally forged our way through the snow in the parking lot and had a wonderful time.  The girls got to have their hair and nails done with makeup and face paint.  Bath time that night came with a little wailing as they realized that princess day was over and everything but the nail polish washed off.

I inlcuded a few blurry pictures of Halle and Elena because you can see the adoration Elena has for her new big sis and I love it.  Elena is also very fond of her new dress-up glasses and as you can see in the group shot she barely waited to get her coat off at home before she put them back on.
