"Both abundance and lack of abundance exist simultaneously in our lives as parallel realities. It is our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present- love, health, family, friends, work, joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us happiness- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

We Only Watched It Once

I know this song isn't by Hannah Montana, but I promise, we only watched that movie one time. Halle has apparently found her passion in life now, constantly singing into her ice cream cone. She keeps turning away from the camera in this video so she can sing to herself in the mirror at the end of the hall.

I am attempting to balance out her music passion with songs from Primary that she will be singing in the program this fall. I loaded them down below so we can pull them up quickly in case anyone else needs to practice. I still need to add a few more, but the first one is the new one that we've been working on.

Location, Location, Location

It's time for our annual "mailbox picture." Every year about this time (since it marks the time we moved into the house), we take a picture of Halle next to the mailbox to show just how much snow we got. We haven't ever had as much as the first year we moved in. We actually couldn't find the mailbox for the first few days.

2008 . . . .

2009 . . . Not so bad

2010 . . . .Word is we might see water shortages this year, but I'm not seeing much difference.

We seem to live in a weather anomoly or Bermuda triangle on our street because, I promise you, these are the mailboxes directly across the street from us.

We don't have it quite as bad as the house two doors down from us. If you look closely to the top right of this picture, you will see Neal shoveling the neighbors driveway, or at least his head and shoulders.

We also usually get some pretty big icicles that Halle likes to help break up.

While Neal and I were helping dig driveways out, the neighbor girls came over for some sledding fun.
Can't beat a sledding hill in your own front yard.

Aahhh. All in a days work. Now it's time for some hot chocolate.

No Victory Here

We decided to go to a basketball game last week where our high school that Neal and I went to was playing their rival. We thought maybe they could redeem themselves after a poor showing in football last fall. And up until the last few minutes of the game, they could have. But true to form, they laid down and died by the end of the game. Oh well. It was fun to watch anyway.

This is a picture of Halle being super brave before the game. We picked the top of the bleachers where you could lean against the wall, and she was pretending to be brave like the other kids.
We went with Mike (Neal's brother) and Anneka. It was a fun time.

Bugs-A-Tawnee Till and other conversation

So today was Groundhogs day, and Halle learned all about it at Mary's but she has a hard time saying Punxsutawney (who can blame her though). It came out more like Bugs-a-Tawnee and half the time his name was Till, but it was still cute.

We also have a broken dishwasher right now, so we get to have some quality family time right now until we can replace it. I didn't catch the most interesting part of the conversation on video, but you can see we just have to go with the flow. She was convinced before I turned on the camera that we live in South America. Mary- are you teaching Geography?

Chance of a Lifetime

I've caved to peer pressure. Here you go. A picture of me with the Hannah Montana hair. It's the one that's least blurry since Halle hasn't learned to keep the camera still when she pushes the button.
