"Both abundance and lack of abundance exist simultaneously in our lives as parallel realities. It is our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present- love, health, family, friends, work, joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us happiness- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

I am putting this picture up to remind myself to enjoy every little bit of summer we have, even if it does get a bit warm and uncomfortable at times. This was taken Christmas morning at my parents house. It had snowed all night and practically the whole week after and driving anywhere was a nightmare, but that morning was nice and peaceful. So here's to a few more months of summer.

Swimming Time

We got a pool for Halle this summer, and she was so excited to finally get to use it. I didn't realize how massive the thing is until we got it out of the box. We can't even blow it all the way up or Halle wouldn't be able to get out of it. Anyway, we put it up next to her slide from the swing set and she has hours of fun.

This picture is from our sister-in-law, Emily. Neal's family came up last weekend for a visit, and Halle got to play with her cousins from Utah. It was nice to see them again.

Don't forget the other links

I was a little excited to get a new background up to celebrate the coming holiday so it's up early. I love the 4th of July as much as Christmas, so to me it seems ok to have our decorations up for at least a month for this holiday too.

Anyway, our camera is in the "shop." It seems to have had a factory defect that is being fixed for free. So in the meantime, I have been working on our other links on this blog (just below our header). Take a look sometime. I'm still working on our photo album because I lost sight of what I was actually going to do with it, but the rest is a finished work in progress.

Working Hard and Hardly Working

My sister and her husband needed help with their new concrete patio last week, so the family showed up to help. Since they couldn't get the truck past the gate, we had to haul the concrete back in wheel barrows. We had 4 people running back and forth and they unloaded it in plenty of time. This is me attempting to help with the shovel and Neal getting his wheel barrow loaded up. Neal did a great job of making the patio look really nice. Because of his job, he has good connections to the right tools for any home project which is always nice.

And then Abbie and Halle got to enjoy a ride when the work was all done.

The next day was the airshow at the tiny airport next to our house. My family came up to watch with us. We enjoyed the comforts of shade from our garage and made some ice cream the old fashioned way. Halle is "helping" my brother, Ryan, in the picture.

Thanks to my sister, Angie, for sending the pictures.

Happy Father's Day

I didn't make up this little saying, but I thought it was cute. I came across it in my many hours of playing around creating my background and other fun stuff. I got sucked in this weekend and couldn't stop. And as you can see by the post time, it's late and Neal is already in bed so there is no one to show my new creation to until morning. It was a ton of fun though.

By the way, our camera is officially dead, so I will be relying on others to send me their pictures of the things we have been doing until we can purchase a new one. I feel so lost without it. Every time Halle does something cute, I am reminded that I can't take a picture of it.
Anyway, Happy Father's Day.

Halle's slide

We inherited an old swing set with our house. And Halle loves it which means mom loves it because she will play on it any time the weather is good and she's allowed outside. Here she is playing with Aedin who came to play yesterday.

The slide is still her favorite part, and the hats- well she always makes sure she has a least one on when she goes outside.
This is just a bigger slide at the park next to our house. It always takes a few minutes for her to get over her fear of heights, but there are always tears when we have to leave because she just loves it.

Two Giggly Girls

Every time Halle is playing with her cousin, Abbie, there are tons of squeals and giggles. They are starting to really love playing with each other now. Here they are over Memorial weekend at Grandma's house.
And here they are sitting with Grandpa at the party we had yesterday for my Dad's birthday and my Grandparent's anniversary. They both wanted to eat their ice cream with Papa on the swing.

Happy Birthday Dad! Sorry Grandma and Grandpa. You are probably glad I don't have a picture of you, but happy 60th anniversary to you too.

New Family in May

I have been meaning to announce a few new additions to our family that we were excited about last month. Neal's brother and his wife had their fifth child, Dallin, on May 8th.

And then my brother was married to our new sister-in-law, Jamie, on Mother's Day weekend. We are so happy for them both. Congratulations!
