"Both abundance and lack of abundance exist simultaneously in our lives as parallel realities. It is our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present- love, health, family, friends, work, joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us happiness- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

Brenda

Brenda is the oldest of four children, two other sisters and a brother. Most of her time as a child was spent with her next younger sister, Jolene, simply because of the age differences. But as they have all grown up, they have all been able to become pretty close friends.

Her favorite things to do as a kid were playing Barbies and making up plays or puppet shows or dance routines that her sisters would fall subject to being part of. They were pretty good sports about it most of the time, so I won't post any of those pictures from our past :-). The other thing they loved to do was play dress up, and that is still good ol' fashion fun when they are in the mood to be silly.

During school, Brenda took piano lessons and played the flute in the band. She also did sewing and cooking in 4-H every summer with her sisters. The best part of her summers, though, were when the family loaded up in the motorhome and headed off somewhere.

After high school, Brenda attended Ricks college and then finished her Bachelors in Accounting at Brigham Young University. It was an incredibly tough and competitive program, but it provided a very valuable foundation for her to build on. After graduation, Neal and Brenda got married and moved to Arizona. While Neal was attending school, Brenda worked her way up to Assistant Controller at a local hospital.

And then after six years, it was time for a change. She found a passion for designing homes and had an opportunity to make that happen, and the best part was she could do it from home. Her accounting background made it much easier to keep track of the details of a home business, and she can now enjoy the freedom of setting her own hours and working around Halle's schedule.
Our Kitties:

. . . . . Charley . . . . . . . . . DaNalli . . . . . . . . . . .Sammy . . . . .
Brenda loves cats and when they found Charley, she just couldn't resist getting him. He was a Scottish Fold with tons of personality. And then we got DaNalli to keep him company, which it turns out he didn't need but they tolerated each other anyway. When Charley passed away from kidney failure, we got Sammy, but he only lived a few months after we got him due to a sickness he got from the Humane Society.
So now we just have DaNalli. She is 8 years old and still really great at catching flies. It's nice because she keeps the bug population in our house to a bare minimum. But as much of a "hunter" as she pretends to be, we can't get her to go outside past the front steps. The indoor life must have spoiled her.
