Lately, she's been getting the baby animals that match the big ones she has. Then one day I came out to see her lining them all up according to their matching partners on the piano. Some of them don't have actual matches, so the giraffe and the pig and the kangaroo and the penguin had to be buddies with each other. The grizzly and the panda are both at least bears, and the alligator just is always by himself because he's "cranky" (her words, not mine). I have to agree. The teeth don't really help his case much.
Halle also likes to play restaurant and store a lot, so she's got an apron where she keeps a little notebook and pen to take our orders. This just happened to be a particularly fascinating outfit with the hat and rain boots combination. She almost looks like she works at a greenhouse.
And my parents and my sister will enjoy these pictures. Neal's parents have enjoyed watching him parent a daughter who is as stubborn as he was as a child. They say the similarities are uncanny.
Well, Halle also has a lot of my traits, and one of them is the pure annoyance of getting up in the mornings. This last week has been especially tough for some reason. I can get as far as having her completely dressed and hair done, but if I leave her for just a few minutes she is back in bed, shoes and socks off, hair bows out, and night time music playing.
So here you go Dad. Does this look familiar at all?
My sister used to delight in the morning torture routine because she's like Neal and wakes up pretty easily. I've had my fair share of lights turned on and covers pulled back, so I know this is only just the beginning.
