Halle used to sleep soundly through thunderstorms when we lived in Yuma because we constantly had big military planes flying over our home and the monsoon storms were crazy. But now that we live in Idaho, there isn't as much noise, so she's not used to the storms anymore.
We had some pretty big thunderstorms this week, so to help her get over being scared, I told her it was just like lightning and thunder in the movie "Cars." So every time lightning came, she'd say"Kachow," and when thunder came, she shouted "Kachiga." You won't understand this without seeing the movie, but I'm just happy it helped her.
