Once it was up, she was soooooo excited. Neal even put up the room divider inside (that we never usually use) and told her it was her very own princess room. You can only imagine the pure joy of that. Here she is showing me as she then goes in and out of her room at least 3 dozen times, zipping and unzipping in the process.
We grilled steak and corn on the cob for dinner, which was really yummy.
We built a fire and roasted marshmallows, but then the weather turned from cold to really cold and rain started coming down. So we ditched sitting around the fire for the evening and went inside the tent to play several rounds of Candy Land - of which Halle legitimately beat us at several times.
Then we pulled out Mr Potato Head and things got a little silly.
And then we got even more silly. Halle was having so much fun taking pictures and then seeing what she looked like in the camera.
The next day was much warmer. This is at Mammoth Hot Springs.
Then the rest of our stay was focused on the canyon. We hiked down to the Lower Falls, which was 600 feet down in 3/8ths of a mile. We actually saw one family that had taken a stroller down and I can't imagine the trip back up for them. Here we are at the top, overlooking the upper falls.
And here we are at the bottom, which is actually the top of the lower falls. Halle is clinging on to my neck for dear life and yet she still manages a smile.
She wouldn't even look up at Neal for this one though.
It was really a breathtaking view and we hope to go back soon.
We didn't get any pictures of the wildlife while we were there, but we did see some elk. Halle kept thinking she saw another one in the top of the trees. We told her that deer and elk don't really climb trees, and her response was, "they do if the humans scare them up there."
