"Both abundance and lack of abundance exist simultaneously in our lives as parallel realities. It is our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present- love, health, family, friends, work, joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us happiness- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

A Rainy Day

It was almost time for bed but we were still waiting for Dad to get home from a meeting, so I sent them outside with their umbrellas to watch for him in the rain. They marched back and forth in front of the house until Halle came running up to me from the sidewalk giddy with excitement.
"Look Mom, I found a rolly polly!" (Dillon's absolute favorite bug that he hasn't seen yet since he's been here) Dillon was so excited until she opened her hand and all she had were rocks.

"Halle, those are just rocks."
"But they can be betend rolly pollies!"
She knew he has been looking for them since he came to our home and must have seen his disappointment when he couldn't find any. It took him a minute to get on board with the idea, but as always, her excitement was too much to resist and he started helping her gather them.

What a great sister she is.We of course had to explain the pile of rocks on the front porch when Dad got home, but they were good enough to send them back to their home when it was time to go in.
